NCR Aloha: Fixing "no item prices data" errors (empty catalog)

What to check in NCR Aloha Configuration Center when Stream reports "no item prices data" during menu sync.

Written by Gildas Burnel

When a location running NCR Aloha or Aloha Cloud shows a "no item prices data" error during menu sync, it almost always means your Aloha organization hasn't been set up to export its catalog (items, categories, modifier groups, and prices) to NCR's cloud yet — nothing is broken, and your prices in Aloha Configuration Center are fine, they just haven't been published anywhere Stream can read them.

Less commonly, NCR's API can return an empty result as a one-off. If this happens only once rather than persistently, it points to that rare case rather than the export/configuration issue described below.

How to fix it, in Aloha Configuration Center

  1. Enable catalog export — as a Global User: Maintenance > Business > Store > Store Settings > System group > Platform Export, then check "Export to Platform - Catalog."

  2. Flag items and modifiers for export — on each item (Maintenance > Menu > Items) and each modifier group, check "Available for online." Anything without this flag won't export, even with step 1 enabled.

  3. Push the changes — run Utilities > POS > Refresh POS & All Installed Products for the store (outside peak hours — terminals reboot), or wait for End of Day. Can take up to a day to reach Stream.

These settings live on NCR's side, so your in-house IT team or NCR reseller will need to make the changes — Stream support can't edit them directly.
