Step 1: Access the Promotions Module
In the Aloha Back Office system, go to:
Maintenance > Payments > Promotions
Step 2: Add a New Promotion
Click New to create a new promotion.
From the drop-down, select the appropriate Promotion Type, such as:
BOGO – Buy One Get One
Combo – Combines items at a special price
Coupon – Adds coupon rules
New Price – Assigns a fixed promotional price without changing base menu prices
Check Reduction – Applies dollar or percentage discounts to a check .
Step 3: Define Promotion Settings
In the Promotion tab, complete the following:
Name: Give your promotion a clear name (max 20 characters).
Start/End Date: Choose the date range for the promotion.
Active: Make sure this is checked if you want the promotion live.
Type: This auto-fills based on what you selected earlier.
Panel Sort Order: Optional – helps organize how the promotion appears on the POS screen .
Step 4: Configure Category and Item Rules
Navigate to Maintenance > Menu > Categories and ensure your items are correctly categorized.
Promotions are tied to these categories. You may need to create a special “general category” for promo-specific items (e.g., just the rib dinner) to ensure accuracy .
Step 5: Add to FOH Screen (Optional but Recommended)
To show the promotion button on terminals:
Go to Maintenance > Screen Designer > Quick Service Screen Designer > Work with Panels, and add your new promotion as a button on the interface.
Step 6: Retrieve the Promotion ID
Once saved, the system assigns a Promotion Number between 1 and 30,000. This number serves as the Promotion ID.
Locate this ID in the Promotion list view or the header of the promotion detail.
This Promotion ID is what you should pass back to our system to link the promotion.
