Using Busy Mode During a Rush

When your kitchen is slammed, use Busy Mode to temporarily raise the prep times customers see across your connected delivery platforms — right from the Orders page.

Written by Gildas Burnel

1. Open the Orders page

From your Stream dashboard, go to Orders.

2. Click Busy Mode in the toolbar

Find the Busy Mode button in the Orders toolbar and select it to open the control.

3. Choose how busy you are

Use the slider to select your current busy level. As you move it, Stream shows you the resulting prep time for each of your connected delivery platforms — so you know exactly what customers will see before you apply anything.

4. Apply Busy Mode

Once you're happy with the preview, apply your selection. A banner appears to confirm Busy Mode is active, so you and your team can see at a glance that prep times are temporarily raised while you work through orders.

5. Let it revert automatically — or turn it off early

Busy Mode automatically reverts to your normal prep times once the window ends — no action needed. If things calm down sooner than expected, you can turn Busy Mode off early from the same control.

Good to know

  • Busy Mode works across your connected delivery platforms, including Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

  • The banner stays visible for as long as Busy Mode is active, so it's always clear when prep times are temporarily raised.

  • If Stream briefly loses its connection to a delivery platform while Busy Mode is active, that platform may not pick up the change (or the automatic revert) until the connection is restored. If a platform still shows the old prep time, check your integration status or reach out to support.
