Order Error: "The price of an ordered item is less than the POS price"

Why an order fails with a price mismatch and what to do about it.

Written by Gildas Burnel

What you'll see

You receive a failed-order email from Stream that says:

The price of an ordered item is less than the POS price

What it means

When an order arrives, Stream checks the item prices and the cart totals. The price of an item on an order may be equal to or higher than the price in your POS, but it may not be lower. When an item comes through lower than its POS price, Stream fails the order.

This can happen when a price was changed in your POS, but the new price did not reach Stream and the delivery apps before the order was placed.

How to fix it

  1. Compare the price of the item in your POS with the price on the failed order. The item name is in the email.

  2. Resync Stream with your POS so Stream has the current price.

  3. Publish your menu to your delivery apps so they show the current price.

Still seeing the error? Contact Stream Support at [email protected] with your Stream location name, the delivery app, the order ID, the item name, the price on the order and the price in your POS.
