How to Connect Just Eat Takeaway (JET)

This article will show you how to find your location ID for JET and get integrated

Written by George

1. From the Menu page click on the + icon

2. Select JET

3. Click Connect

4. Locate your JET id by logging into your merchant portal

Navigate to the location you want to connect, click on your Profile and you can find the ID there

5. Enter your ID for the location(s) you want to connect

6. Click on Continue to submit the integration

NOTE: After clicking Continue, your JET MID will be submitted to Just Eat Takeaway. JET will then set up the integration on their side — this typically takes around 7 working days.

7. Publish your menu approximately 7 working days after submission

Once JET have completed the setup on their side, you must publish your menu from Stream to finalise the integration. This publish initiates the bind between Stream and JET for your location.

How to publish: Navigate to your menu in Stream, click the Publish dropdown, and select Just Eat Takeaway.

NOTE: Publishing before JET have completed their setup will result in an error. If you are unsure whether JET have finished the configuration on their side, please contact Stream support before publishing.

Troubleshooting

Nested modifier groups showing restricted selections

JET does not support nested modifiers in the same way some POS systems structure them. When an item contains nested modifiers, JET treats the parent (second-layer) modifier groups as required and enforces a fixed min/max selection of one. This is a platform limitation on the JET side rather than an issue with your configuration or the integration itself. Because of this logic, any modifier group that sits above a nested modifier is automatically forced to "pick exactly one", which is why you may see restrictions on selections.

Recommended fix: Add a "No change" option within the affected modifier groups in your POS. This satisfies JET's requirement for a selection while still giving customers a clear way to proceed without altering the item. This is the fastest and least disruptive fix — it avoids the need to restructure the menu or split items.

Longer-term alternatives would involve restructuring the menu (for example, separating meal vs. non-meal items), but the above approach will get things working correctly with minimal changes.
